A couple different things

First off, I have been doing a lot of reading at work. I have been buying trade paperbacks like a madman. With my new shift, when we're slow I have seen downtime as long as 45 minutes. So, here are some of the comics I have been reading.

I've also ordered some more and have some in my "to read pile." I also plan on re-reading Watchmen. So, I have that too look forward to.

I went to the Columbus Crew home opener yesterday. Had a pretty good time. Since I had to go straight to work afterwards I didn't get to have any beer or anything, which does make a little difference but far from ruins the night. It was a really good match. Both teams looked great and Columbus really should have won, but unfortunately, a bad bounce led to an own goal against The Crew which tied the match up. I have to say, overall, the MLS as a league is looking a lot better. Seattle is looking like a team that has been around for years, The Crew is still in great form, Toronto is looking amazing... I could go on for awhile. The short is the MLS is finally starting to look like a top tier league and I think in a few years, might start catching up with the leagues in Europe.

Expect a full video review of the T-Mobile G1 in the next week or so, I also have some breaking news that will have it's own post and hopefully I will have an announcement regarding some interviews that might be upcoming.

USA v. Mexico

In case anyone cares, we beat Mexico 2-0 in the World Cup Qualifier match last night. It was a great time.

Also, in other news, I bought a laptop. More info to come.

Be Tee Double you. Waffle House might be the best thing in the world.

Go Crew!

Today is match two if the Eastern Conference Semi-finals in Major League Soccer. The Columbus Crew will be taking on the Kansas City Wizards and the series is all tied. So the winner tonight will continue. I have tickets to the match and will be cheering, singing, clapping and chanting in the supporter's section.

It will be a little hard for the Crew. They are the supporter's shield winners, which means that they had the highest points rating at the end of the regular season and are highest ranked in the entire MLS. Traditionally, the Shield winners don't preform well in the post season and usually don't even make the finals. I have faith that we will be an exception to this trend.

So, if you have HDNet or ONN(Ohio News Network), be sure to catch the match tonight!

In non-soccer news, I am still playing Fallout. Expect a full review once I finish the game for the first time, because there will be multiple play throughs...

Soccer, or Football as I accidently call it

So, I am a fan of Soccer. I went to almost half the home games this season for the Columbus Crew. This is the first time in my life I have actually had the money to go to sporting events of any sort, so it has been really nice. Some of you may ask, why soccer? Why "The Beautiful Game?"

Firstly, because I am never one to just like something because I should. I hate baseball, I don't like The Buckeyes and I think Basketball is kind of lame. I don't like soccer just because it's different, but it did attract my attention because of it. It's not the sports I don't like and often time the people that like those sports, don't like soccer. So I thought maybe it would be unique enough to keep my attention, and it did.

Another thing cool about soccer is that if you have the right channels, it's always on. It's also entertaining enough that I can pretty much watch any two teams play and enjoy myself. A well played game of football will pass the time regardless of if you have an invested interest into the teams playing.

Lastly, it's just plan down right fun. I took Ryan to a match last month and he got a taste of the good life. We drank beer, we ate hot dogs and we chanted and sang. Well more me singing and chanting than him, but I could see him getting into it by the end of the match. Don't believe me that this is a fun wild time. Well, we were sitting right next to the supporter's corner. The following video shows what it's like to be said "supporter."

So, in short, support your local soccer team. They will love you for it.
