As I said on this week’s episode, via Twitter, I was able to set up an email interview with Adult Film Actress Jelena Jensen.
I won’t waste any more of your time with posturing and explanations. Without further ado…
My Interview with Jelena Jensen.
-You are one of very few Adult Films stars who does not appear in hardcore scenes. What prompted this choice, and has it put any roadblocks in your way, professionally?
I haven’t done any hardcore to date because I’ve always felt the need to be true to myself. A lot of girls create a persona but I like to continue to be myself. I’ve never done girl/girl hardcore because I’m 100% heterosexual. I’m not attracted to women and I have no desire to have sex with them so I don’t do it on camera. I haven’t done boy/girl because I’m not comfortable having sex with every guy in the business who’s had sex with every girl in the business. Just not my cup of tea. I’m a very monogamous person, so to me it’s just something that hasn’t interested me. I have nothing against hardcore, it’s just something that I haven’t felt was the right choice for me. I don’t believe that my choice in not doing hardcore has put up and roadblocks for me professionally. I didn’t get into this business to be the next big star…I just kind of rode the wave.
-What makes a Magna Cum Laude graduate with a BFA in Film and Television Production enter the Adult Film industry?
I worked in the adult business in online retail and distribution while I was in college. I never thought I’d be on the talent side, but I was given the opportunity to pay back my student loans by becoming a nude model and I jumped at the opportunity. I never intended for it to become my career. I planned on being in the business for a year or two and then moving on with my life. But fate had other plans in store for me. My career took off and I started up my website a year and a half into it all. And five years ago when my webmaster and I split ways, I got deeper into it all by taking the site on myself. I actually spend more time in front of the computer working on my site and content more than I spend in front of the camera. So I have to say that I’m indirectly still using my degree to an extent.
-I'm sure your profession keeps you very busy. What do you do in your off time to relax? What hobbies do you enjoy?
Since I run my site and am starting to also run other sites, still model, do weekly cam shows and travel to conventions and webmaster conferences, I really don’t have much time to myself. When I do get some time I usually spend it hanging out with my dog. I have a 155lb Mastiff that is the love of my life! He’s my little sidekick. I also sport shoot…mainly skeet shooting. I’ve been shooting since I was 7 years old and I own a few guns. Not your typical glamour model! I also love to snowboard, but missed out this last season. I’m making it a point to get up on the mountain this next winter. I like to cook, travel, and spend time outdoors as well.
-You've been in the Industry since 2003. Since then you've been featured in magazines, started your website, and become the sweetheart and fantasy of countless men and women the world over. Do you have any plans for your stardom outside of the Adult Film Industry?
I don’t really have any plans for stardom because I’ve never wanted to be famous or anything like that. I look at my career as a business more than anything and I’m just making the most out of it while I can. I’m content to stay where I’m at…obviously I want to grow different areas of my business, but I don’t want to become a mainstream actress or anything like that.
-Are women in the porn industry more attracted to men in the porn industry, or the more average guys like us? On a tangent, what types of men are you attracted to?
I can’t speak for all the women in the adult industry, but I’m not really attracted to a specific group of men. I don’t really care what the guy does for a living because I’m not superficial like that. I date someone or am attracted to them based on who they are as a person and what qualities and characteristics they hold. I don’t really have a “type” of man I’m attracted to. Every guy that I’ve dated is extremely different from the rest. But I do tend to go for guys that are secure, and by secure I mean secure with themselves as a person. A lot of men will be ok with what I do for a living at first, and then decide they don’t like it. But it’s a part of me and I need someone who can be secure with themselves and not get jealous. I look for honest, trustworthy, and faithful men as well as someone with intelligence and a sense of humor.
-What is your dream job? -or- What would pull you out of the Adult Film Industry?
As of right now I can’t really think of anything that would be my dream job. I actually like running websites. I learn something new every day and constantly challenge myself. I obviously don’t want to do this for the rest of my life, but for now, I’m enjoying it.
-How would an average guy or girl, like our listeners, break into the Adult Film Industry?
Seems like all you have to do is get an agent and start working. I had a different way in as I was already a part of the industry and had connections. Plus, I didn’t really aspire to do this…it kind of just fell into my lap and I went for it.
-Every guy wants to date a porn star. Is this a realistic dream? And how could one make this dream come true?
Sorry I don’t have an exciting answer for this question, but I really don’t feel like a guy should date a girl just because of who she is or what she does for a living. Big reason why I don’t date fans. Every porn star is a person and usually has more to them than their profession. My advice would be go find someone you’re compatible with and enjoy being around, not just someone who you think is good in bed because they fuck for a living.
-Current favorites
- Band: I have too many favorite bands and I don’t have a particular favorite one right now. I can say that I’ve been listening to Ida Maria, the Kaiser Chiefs and An Horse a lot lately.
- Book: I hardly ever read, so I don’t feel like I could do this one justice. I wish I read more but having been a film major, I’m sure you can guess what I do in most of my free time…watch movies!
- Movie: Once again, I have too many favorites. A few would be Donnie Darko, Amelie, Shaun of the Dead, Tim Burton and Quentin Tarantino movies.
- Video Game: Wii Bowling! Guitar Hero too! I know, not that exciting but as I said, I don’t have much time for anything.
-Is there anything you are super-excited about (upcoming movies, robotic uprising, etc)?
I’m SUPER excited for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. I most likely have to wait a year for it to come out but it’ll definitely be worth the wait. I’m a HUGE Alice in Wonderland, Johnny Depp, and Tim Burton fan. Combine them all and you get greatness. You can bet I’ll be the first one there opening night!
-We here at Kneel Before Pod focus our content primarily on topics that appeal to geek culture. Do you have any secret shame geek vices?
I’m a total geek. I spend all my time on the computer and am extremely techie. A lot of girls ask for jewelry, clothes and other things of that nature for birthdays and Christmas. I ask for software, site designs and HD cameras instead.
-You have two months to live...how do you spend your time?
Traveling the world and eating whatever I want.
-If you were an animal, what would you be?
A dog with a really good owner. Dogs with really good owners have the life.
-What is your perfect pizza?
I like white pizza. I’m not big on marinara sauce. Lots of cheese, garlic and spinach. I also like just pineapple on my pizza too.
