Please don't mind the dust...

You might have already noticed a few changes to the website. An example is the link buttons now below the logo on the top of the page. These are all things being tested for a brand new website that will be launching shortly. With this new website we're going to have a brand new logo and a new layout. Most the things you might notice between now and then aren't anything permanent, so please bare with us as we prepare for these changes.

I personally am hoping that along with this new site, there will be much more new original content coming. So stay tuned and see what's next...

Searching for win

You may not know it, but a knowledgeable webmaster can find a lot of information about the people that visit his or her website. Here at Kneel Before Pod, while not amazing or even very knowledgeable webmasters, we still know our way around Google Analytics. This handy little tool lets me go through our web traffic and see exactly what search term a visitor used to find our website. So without further ado, here are some of the funnier searches that eventually found their way to Kneel Before Pod.

"thats what i love about them high" - I can only assume this is a search for that famous line from Dazed and Confused. How a line about high school girls staying the same age can lead to us, I have no idea...  Also, we all know the "Are you cool man?" quote is way better.  Anyways, we were like three years old when he graduated...

"i hate fps games on consoles" - Me too man... me too.

"it is stupid meat" - Now I have to wonder, is it meat that isn't very intelligent or is it meat that when ingested actually lowers your ability to reason? Either way, I don't think we have ever talked about this on the website or the podcast.

"order of the arrow 'have you seen the arrow'" - Order of the Arrow is an honor society within the Boy Scouts of America. I'm sorry Boy Scout, if you were looking for that here, you surely found The Green Arrow instead...  I will say this though.  I have had experiences in both Boy Scouts and with Green Arrow.  I prefer Green Arrow.

what pod does game?- Beats me.

games competing with world of warcraft - Lets all be honest, there are no games that truly compete against World of Warcraft. There are only games that happen to survive despite World of Warcraft.

star trek online enemy character chuck norris - Now, we got a lot of search hits because of my Star Trek Online review, but this is by far the most awesome of them all.

Now to end this all, I think that everyone with a website can tell you that you're going to get search hits for porn. It is impossible to avoid. The odds are always in favorite that a random sampling of words off your front page at any given moment can be arranged into something that sounds pornographic. Now take into account that we have "Kneel" in our name and Ryan actually did an interview with an internet porn star. Yeah, we have some interesting search results. So rather than take your time with a bunch of silly comments, here's just a list of the "better" ones. Warning, these may offend some people. I doubt they will offend anyone that reads our site though...

  • interview with pron star before making movie
  • kneel and suck
  • kneel before me movies
  • kneeling before other women
  • pron pod three men (??? Seriously have no idea folks...)
  • woman kneeling before men
  • girls kneeling in front of porn star
  • movie "sex with every girl"

Last thing to note...
On September 6th, 2009 we got our one and only AOL search hit. This is like finding fucking Bigfoot folks. Yes, this is indisputable proof that at least one person in the world still uses AOL. And they're interested in "Spore Endgame."

What a month...

I don't think it's a secret that Kneel Before Pod fell on some rough times lately. With personal issues and other factors weighing down on us here, it's been a sparse winter as far as content goes. Now we are more or less through all that and we're back on a somewhat normal schedule. With a few new episodes and some new site content we're finally getting back into the swing of things here. And what a mighty swing it is!

This past month has been one of our biggest months here at Kneel Before Pod. Not to get all meta, but it's been one of our best months for both episode downloads and web traffic. So what's the point to all this? Simple:

That pretty much sums it up folks. You're awesome. When our numbers should have been going down because we weren't producing content, they actually stayed strong. Some might even be able to make the argument that we were more popular when we were doing nothing at all!

So, all this to say thank you. Thank you to the people that have stuck with us, thank you to people that have recently joined us and thank you even to the people that we might have lost along the way. Without you folks, we would just be two nerds sitting on a couch watching Justice League Unlimited reruns.

Likely no new show this weekend, but we're working hard on next week already!

In this episode Ryan, Carl and special guest Nate talk about the five movies that every self respecting geek should see. From movies about time travel to space travel, we try to dig up some of the best movies you might not have seen before and maybe a couple that you have.

So, it's now 2009

A new year is upon us and I couldn't be happier. 2008 was a terrible year. It was filled with stuff and unhappiness.

Wait... what? It's 2010? Says who? Shit... I missed a year.

Let me start over...

So, a new year is upon us and I couldn't be happier. 2009 was a terrible year. The entire world got poor and our planet almost got foreclosed on. I know those bastard neighbors on Mars were eye balling our place. I would see them drive by really slow and get green over our swimming pool. Or maybe they were already green. Frankly, I'm not sure.

Then we all lost our jobs, Jersey Shore premiered on MTV, Transformers 2 actually got released, Lady Gaga continued to make music videos that may or may not be filled with really stupid symbolism, and tea bagging became a mainstream term much to the delight of those of use that know what it really means. Sure, there were a couple bright points to this year, but as I like to say, it was like diving into a porta-john for diamonds.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't ready for 2010. For maybe one of the first times in my life, a new year actually feels like I can make a change. Like I can turn my own personal fortunes around and maybe the world can start to get a little better. I'm not sure, but I can hope.

One thing that I am really hoping for is that Ryan & myself can actually get the show rolling again. With so many things going on from car problems to inconsistent internet stolen from a neighbor's wifi, it's been nearly impossible for to record on any regular basis. Even when we did find ourselves able to record, there would be some strange technical issue such as a corrupted data file that would prevent me from properly exporting and uploading the show.

With the new year, we're hoping to actually get the show rolling in true KBP fashion. So keep listening and we'll keep recording.

As for you 2009...

Episode 51: Kneel Before 2009

It's that time of year again. We are all a little fatter and we all think that within a couple of days, everything will be different because it's a new year. While this might not always be true, one thing about New Years is for sure, it sure does make for a proper time to do a year in review show!

In this wrap up episode, we pick our favorite video games, movies and comic books. So sit back and enjoy this fond look back at the past 365 days.

Holy Crap for Crap!

A 2009 wrap up episode has been recorded! I will be mixing it and it should be up before Wednesday I reckon. In this episode, we go over some of our favorite and least favorite things in 2009.

Other news, I also was able to retrieve a previously corrupted episode that was recorded a few months ago, so there is more content in the pipes! We are planning on going back to a regular schedule early in 2010 now that certain circumstances will now allow us to record.

Hope you had a wonderful holiday season!

Update!

I recently made some slight changes to our website, including adding a little retro feeling banner. Feel free to leave comments here on what you think. More or less the same old, just a little cleaned up and some color changes.

Also, there is a new episode on the way. It has been recorded and mixed, just giving the last episode a couple days to stew before I upload the next one. Ryan and I both feel we have been letting you guys down as far as content, so we are aiming to fix that. So keep an eye out for more consistent show postings and maybe some extras as a little bit of a "We're sorry we're bad hosts."

So, I want to thank everyone that has stuck it out. Thank you to all the people that have sent us feedback that we haven't yet responded to. Thank you to the people that still recommend us to friends despite our recent laze. Thank you are dearest listeners and readers.
